On November 13, the Confucius Institute at the University of Utah hosted Qile Tian, the men’s basketball coach at Tsinghua University in Beijing, as he gave a lecture titled “Sports in China.”
On the evening of October 1st, students and community members gathered in Kingsbury Hall to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the founding of the Confucius Institute at the University of Utah (CIUU) and the conclusion of Chinese Culture Week.
As part of the Confucius Institute at the University of Utah’s (CIUU) 10th Anniversary Chinese Culture Week, the Sichuan University Art Troupe toured the state of Utah, giving performances to schools from the Salt Lake Valley to St. George.
This year marks the 10 year anniversary of the establishment of the Confucius Institute at the University of Utah (CIUU). From September 24th through October 2nd, CIUU hosted its 10th annual Chinese Culture Week, which included cultural events and activities at the University of Utah, Confucius Classrooms and other local schools throughout the state.
On September 23rd, the University of Utah (UU) Confucius Institute partnered with local Chinese community organizations to host a celebration of both the Mid-Autumn Festival and Chinese National Day at the UU Student Union.
On September 25th, the Confucius Institute at the University of Utah hosted Professor Xiaolu Wang’s lecture entitled “Trans-border and In-between: Americans in Late 19th and Early 20th Century China.” Over 20 students and teachers attended the event.
